Gary in the Army

Gary is the second guy back from the front, stepping away from the plane that brought him back home from Afghanistan.

Welcome Home!!!

Shortly after returning home Gary visited his folks in Walnut Creek, Ca for a family gathering, which we attended.
The below photos were taken at the Kandahar air base where Gary was stationed.

This is Gary and his dance partner at a military ball. Please note the dress black bow tie--very fetching. His folks recently visited Gary at his Fort Campbell, Kentucky base for Thanksgiving. Now that Gary is back home he has taken on a new role well beyond being a helicopter mechanic. Gary is still assigned to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade. He is currently serving as vice president of BOSS (that's Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers). This organization assists and helps provide entertainment for single soldiers at the base. As part of this job he also does a lot of interfacing with local communities

Gary finished a tour in Afghanistan and will be stationed at Fort Campbell until he is discharged. As might be expected, he is currently investigating a number of job opportunities following his discharge.

The first photos below show his office at Fort Campbell and some of the sights that his parents saw while back there for a visit. After that there are photos from when he was stationed at Kandahar in Afghanistan. His crew worked only on Apache helicopters and they shared a hanger with a group of Australians.
